Crows Landing River Preserve
Project Lead: RD 2092/River Partners
Short Project Description:
This project proposes to phase out operations of a dairy farm and breach an existing agricultural berm to open 190 acres of floodplain land to San Joaquin River flows. Flood conveyance capacity and riparian ecosystem improvements are both anticipated, and the extent of these benefits at both low- and high-flow conditions will be assessed by planning, modeling, and permitting efforts. Water quality benefits will also accrue from the dairy farm retirement.
