Ceres Main Regulating Reservoir

Project Lead: Turlock Irrigation District

Short Project Description:
The Ceres Main Regulating Reservoir will provide multiple benefits in a gravity-based irrigation distribution system. It will attenuate storm flows generated in the city of Ceres, thereby reducing storm surge on the Tuolumne and San Joaquin Rivers. It will also support water conservation by stabilizing flow rates in the system downstream of the reservoir and by capturing water that is normally spilled allowing that water to remain stored for later use. Stable flow rates and increased water supply reliability, coupled with faster response times to customer demands, will provide major improvements in water supply service for growers served by the reservoir.

Project Cost $9,000,000
