Dry Creek Multibenefit Project Planning
Project Lead: Stanislaus County
Short Project Description:
This planning effort will identify specific projects within the Dry Creek watershed where waters from high stormwater flows may be diverted for infiltration into local groundwater aquifers. These projects will be intended to reduce flood risks in disadvantaged communities within Modesto, as well as reduce peak flows on the Tuolumne River downstream of the Dry Creek confluence and recharge local groundwater aquifers. As of this time, habitat enhancements are not explicitly contemplated as part of the potential projects, but forthcoming planning efforts may explore this possibility.
