Short Project Description:
The United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is considering expanding the San Joaquin River National Wildlife Refuge in two sections to restore and enhance habitat to benefit birds migrating along the Pacific Flyway and many other wildlife species that may be compatible or complementary with flood conveyance and transient floodwater storage on floodplains in the Mid San Joaquin River region.
